this is a case plow. probably for a vac or sc with eagle hitch. that is why the third link hookup is so high so you dont need to use the over the pto link. if you look at the left side arm hookup you wiil see two adjustment bolts. these were so you could pull this plow on a tractor with a reg. 3 point. while on a case eagle hitch these bolts would be backed all the way out to make up for the rigid eagle hitch arms.

That is definatly NOT a case plow, it is an Oliver and that top link setup is the way it had to be made for the adjustable width frame. It does have Moline coulters on it tho as the orignal probably wore out and any make coulters will work on any make plow as long as the coulter shank is the same size, orignal Oliver Coulter yokes were a lot heavier. Get back with me later by email and I will try to find out the model numbers for you and I can also furnich you a photo copy of a manual at my cost for that plow, As of right now I just don't have the time to look for the stuf. That plow was made starting in the 50's for the 44 and 55 tractors with their 3 point hitch (It would not mount on a case eagle hitch), it was continued into the 60's for the 440 and 550 series tractors. My guess is Cockshutt. It is very similar in appearance to a 3 bottom plow that I had. I thought I had an I-H plow because I-H was stamped on the coulters, but when I was preping the plow to paint it I sanded into a "Cockshutt" decal under a layer of paint. Someone had put I-H coulters on it...Oliver is a good guess too although they were made by the same company..Mike in Exeter Ontario

If the paint I am seeing is origial, not a repaint, you may have a J I Case plow. My Uncle had one like that for his VAC-14. Phil

I was thinking Case as well, tho I am not familiar wth them.... Oliver made plows for a lot of different companies, so a lot of parts may be about the same. I have 1 of those coulter brackets, it does not look like the cast ones on my Oliver plows, mine looks to be painted orginal yellow. I believe dad got it with a pile at auction, so not sure where it comes from.

Oliver adjustable frame set on 14" frame space and could have either 12", 14" or 16" bottoms and 14" bottoms can be used with 16" shares for 16" spacing and made in late 50's or early 60's and would carry a 4 didget model number. made also as a 3 bottom

By color of paint I would think they are MM. Same plows aren"t they?

I noticed the yellow but the back of the frame is red. Very confusing...

Can you tell me where the 4 digit model number would be? Should it be stamped on the frame somewhere?

Thanks,

Danny

It was never stamped in the frame of the 3 bottom version that we had, I have a few parts books on them but it would take some digging to find them and I cannot remember any of the model nos. the one we had was 14" bottoms set on 16" frame width and was using 16" shares. Paint was also all gone.Used ours back of Ford 3 cylinder 4000 with the 38" rear wheels or possibly with the Ford 5000 but we had the cat 1 hitch altho I have seen them with the cat 2 hitch.
