I am looking to buy a Hesston 1014 from a neieghbor. It has sat for several years. When the neighbor bought his in laws farm, the farm came with a NH1475 so the hesston was no longer needed. The neighbor also said he would cut me a good deal on it price wise. I plan to use it to cut Alfalfa/timothy mix hay, and will probably have a chance to try it next summer before I have to commit. What experiences have people had with these machines. Any comments are welcome

John

Good machine. Have been using one for years. Hardest part to repair, Auger. check it over carefully for rust through/rust out. Had to rebuilds ours yr before last. Bottom idler sprocket on auger freezes or burns out every couple years. Inexpensive, easy to change, keep a spare on hand. Other than greasing pitman arm center and ends daily, crusher rollers every other day, oiling chains daily, keeping cutters sharp and/or replaced, ours has been a good machine for its years. been cutting 300.400 acres ayear for us last 16yrs.
