Trip bucket loader

Well not to long ago some one said it was easy to put a cylinder in place of a trip on a loader well I have spent the last week trying to get it right and I still haven't got it like it should be. I either get it to dump as it should a max up or I get it to be up just a little all the way down but can not get both. This is the socond one I have done this year and believe me its not that easy to do it right.

Old,I have done two 33IH loaders and I figured out that you need to change the pivot point on the bucket,IH has already drilled them and I just unbolted and rebolted them. Good luck and keep all the snow south of I-70 this year. kjm NEMO

I have done a few of these types of conversions i usually make a radius rod joint like a newer loader has. That way i can use a 20 to 24 inch cylinder hold a low profile and have alot of bucket curl and dump.

I would agree, it isn't that easy. Went through it with a JD430 and #35 loader several years ago and still working on it. I should have done the factory thing with 2 cylinders but wanted to economize. You gotta get leverages right and angle of push, also depends upon what length of cylinder you are using. On mine I had to weld new swivel points for the loader arms to my bucket so the bucket sets ahead about 3 inches. Then after getting it all set up found out the front cross beam of the loader really wasn't heavy enough to hold up so took more beefing up. If the type loader you have was made in factory dump bucket, try to find one and take measurements. Otherwise look at other similar ones and measure travel distance etc.
