Been trying to find out what are the model numbers of the older late 70's and 80's new holland round balers. I'm only intrested in a 4x4 bale right now. I know the larger balers can make a smaller bale too but I would really just like to have a 4x4 baler. When did NH make the switch from a chains to belts in the bale chamber?

Thanks Matthew

I have a NH 848, it makes a 4 by 4.5 bale. They made them up until 1991, mine is a late one. Just had it a couple years, but if you have any questions I will try to help.

I have a 630 that makes a good squared shoulder, firm, tight, 4*4 bale. Great smaller baler and you do not have to increase your horsepower-the later versions are 634, 638 followed by the new 730

I know 846 and 847, I think 848. The 850 series were the bigger balers. The 6-- series were the belt balers came out about '90-'91?? (my dad has a '91)
