On my IHC 5100 grain drill, there are these plastic bushings that go on the round shaft and hold the furrow openers (the deal that holds the discs, press wheel, etc - the "black part" in place. I think that they call the round shaft the "draw bar", and there is a tool for holding the bushings together to remove the furrow opener assembly. Does anyone know how to replace the bushings? Does the entire drawbar get removed? Some of mine are bad, but I hate to disassemble the whole deal for a few... Any ideas?

I had my 510 apart last winter and put it back together this summer because I had to drill wheat with it I was going to repaint it though I got busy and gave that up. Anyhow I took the drawbars and that rod off that has those plastic bushings on it. From the looks of it you will have to take that rod loose in order to replace those plastic bushings. Yes I have never saw one of those tools perhaps we should ask our dealers if they can get them as that would be helpful. I used my leather gloves when putting them back together. It is a time consuming task. Maybe you can leave the parts holing the shaft on there intact and slide the shaft out to replace those and if not it is not too bad of a task to remove it. CASE IH should be able to get you those bushings. If you like e-mail me. I hope I have helped some. R Wyler
