Just curious what one can expect to pay for an older but good working condition manure spreader (ground driven)?

If you're interested in a fixer-upper, I have an IHC thats all there, but needs new wood. I bought it a few years ago for 35.00 and then found another one. I'd like to see someone fix it, because its really a good one. I'm near Emporia. Holler back or email me if you're interested.

I paid $300 for a NI a few years ago. Had to fix a few boards and a tire but other than that its still working.

I paid $45 for a mid 50s JD model R spreader. All it needed was a new tube for one of the tires.

I bought a new Idea 1954 model 17 from a machinery dealer about a year ago. It had the origional wood in good shape. All I had to do was to repaint it and do some fixing up from dints and bangs. I paid $600 for it I know that was a little high, but it was in great shape.I used it in the spring to apread about 20 loads of manure

I picked up a PTO drive spreader for $5 at an auction the other day. I pasted up a few at auctions lately that went from $20 up to around 500. Just watch auctions and you might find one dirt cheap. By the way the only thing wrong with the one I got was it was missing 2 chain bars for the floor chain

Depends on where you are. Here in New Jersey, which is Horse Boarding Central, any spreader, regardless of make, if it"s in good shape, is $500 minimum. I"ve seen some old spreaders go for almost 3 times that, for which I wouldn"t have paid $100.

Billy im in ne KS here too. In the last year Ive seen several ground drivens sell for 300-500 dollars. They arent near as productive as a pto but the horse people want them. Maybe so they can pull them with their dually pickups??

Thats my reason too, I'm a horse owner although my horse-hobby budget can't afford a dually. Regardless, thanks for the info, at least now I have an idea of what to expect at auction.
