CF, The nice part about those old Farmhands is that you can make mounts for just about any tractor out of ordinary scrap iron. I use 4" angle iron and 3/8" steel plate. When it gets light outside, I'll take some pictures of some home-grown mounts. But, the downside is that those old loaders were designed for OLD tractors. :>) This is about the time that Farmhand went to those front-mounting, front-end loaders because at about 65 horsepower, you start running out of headroom (for lack of a better term) on the F-11 and they were designed for a rear approach tractor. Where there is a will, there is a way I guess, but I don't think you want to try to put 'er on a 966. First, the tractor is too long; those F-11s need to bolt and transfer weight to the rear axle. You wouldn't be able to mount to the rear axle and still have the front of the loader clear the nose of the tractor. Second, the fenders with the field lights would have to come off. Then, this exposes those rear axles and you you'll notice that they aren't square anymore, they're six sided, which would take some fancy ironwork for the mounts. Third, the tractors mounting steps are in the way, so they would have to come off. Once the loader is on, there is no way of crawling on and off the tractor from the front of the rear wheels; ya gotta crawl up and over the back. Fourth is the F-11's controls. If you did get 'er strapped on there, the controls are going to be behind you and unhandy because the operator's platform has been moved so far forward on that tractor. They would have to be moved. Now, all of this is is assuming your 966 doesnt have a cab to start with. The biggest tractor Ive ever had an F-11 on is a 656 and that one was unhandy to say the least. The 666 & 686 will just barely go under the loader, but with only an inch or two to spare; and the issue of crawling up and over the rear of the tractor to get on and off would be a nightmare, IMHO. Tryin to help. Allan
