Hugh, are you there somewhere? I've been pretty out-of-pocket for the last several weeks, and on top of that, I've lost your e-mail address.

If you can't find him anywhere else, check the IH forum. I have his email address but cannot send it to you unless you post yours. I don't want to just put his up on the forum.

Dave,

Thanks for the comeback. I've been communicating with Hugh for several years, since he still lived in Novy.

My e-mail is [email protected]. Weird name, I know, but it stands for Indiana, Illinois and Iowa, the three states I consider that I really have lived in. Been in Florida for 27 years, but haven't gotten used to it yet, especially lately - LOL.

Cheese from Nova Scotia in reply to Dave H (MI), 10-09-2004 11:25:16
Yep, Hugh surely did return the favor. In 2001 we were tooling around in Nova Scotia and found a wonderful Gouda cheese maker named That Damned Dutchman, in Economy, NS. A year or so later we wanted to order some more but I'd lost the phone number, etc. I asked Hugh, and he knew the damned Dutchman quite well. Got the info, ordered the cheese, but time was short for delivery before Christmas. Damned Dutchman was coming to Orlando (50 miles from where I live), so he brought it with him, along with wife and family..a carful, I'm sure. Great cheese and great service! Didn't get to meet him in person, but he left the cheese in the hotel lobby and I picked it up. Now I'm a regular customer each December.

Dave: He sure did, just got an e mail from Stan. I'll be getting back to him. Stan is one of the first guys I ever met at YT. I was looking for a picture of a John Deere 114W hay baler. Within an hour Stan sent a picture. I was able to return the favor. Just ask Stan how to get cheese from the Damn Dutchman in Economy, Nova Scotia. That is from Nova Scotia to Florida in 48 hours

I thought I was that damned Dutchman! in reply to Hugh MacKay, 10-09-2004 13:58:05
Least ways, been called that a few times! That's a great story about the cheese....seriously, a Dutchman would go to just about any lengths to make a sale. Paid off too. Glad you guys managed to get back in contact!

Dave

Dave: Thanks for passing that along to Stan. I had his e mail but probably wouldn't have gotten to it until fall harvest is over.

That Cheese item was really quite amusing. Forget the exact date, but got this e mail from Stan describing the Damned Dutchman and his Cheese making. I thought I knew who he was talking about, but to be on the safe side consulted some Dutch friends. I was right and sent Stan the info. Turns out the Damned Dutchman was flying to Florida for Christmas. I know this all happened after Dec 20th. I got this e mail from Stan probably 23rd or 24th, saying," You guys in Nova Scotia give good service, the Dutchman makes deliveries in Florida, well sort of."
