I just bought a Case IH 3206 disc mower. This is made buy new idea and has independant gear boxes. When tried the mower the 1st 2 discs turned but the last 4 did not. When shut off, The last four turn very easy. Is the shaft broke? What exactly does it look like? I'm affraid to tear into the mower to find out. Would cold rold steel work?

Thanks Seth

Could be a shaft but I'd lean toward a stripped collar. Happens if the grease pots run dry. Shaft is an octaginal harden steel shaft. Best to get from the dealer, it is very hard stuff and I cant imagine the mess you'd have if you had a mild steel shaft twist in there. Pretty simple, just take each housing off in series as you go, only 2 bolts once you get it stripped down
