NH or NI 3ph Disc Mowers - Which is better?

After using a friend"s New Idea 5407 Disc Mower, I decided it is time to trade in my old JD 1209 MoCo and modernize a little. I really liked the 5407, as it was lightning fast and cut clean.

My question is what would be a better mower, the NI 5407 or the NH 615? I only put up a few thousand bales and my lots are only about 2 to 12 acres in size. The New Holland dealer is only 5 miles from my house, the New Idea dealer is about 7 miles. Both are good about stocking parts.

Are the mowers US built? I read somewhere that the 615 was built in France.

Resale is also a factor. Will the NH bring a higher resale number when the time comes? Is there anything else I should know?

Any help will be appreciated.

The NI mowers are built in the US and have all standard hardware except for the pto shaft which will be metric. We've ran a NI 5409 over 600+ acres in the last 3 years and we haven't spent a total of $150 on it including new blades. Around here 75% of the disk mowers are NI (or Bushog which is made by NI) and I've never heard of any major problems with them. From what I've been told the drive shaft driven cutter bar on a NI can be rebuilt for less than half the cost of the gear box style cutter bars.
