I am getting an old manure spreader in restorable condition, have not picked it up yet. I am not sure what model it is but I looked in the archives and no. 4-A looks the closest, it has 4 wheels and a seat, wood sides and bottom. Any idea of what year it would be, also are they collectable or am I the only one who want a manure spreader that I never intend to get dirty but use for photo backgrounds and parades?

The no.4-A is all metal. The A stands for all steel. I am not sure but I belive there was a No.4 also that was made of wood. I just bought an old color brochure on these machines and should be receiving it any day now and may know more then. These were made from the late teens through the 30's--I could be wrong though.Post a picture if possible!

Thanks for your insight, the one I am getting is definately all wood, I guess I couldn"t tell in the picture I saw if it was wood or steel.
