Does anyone know how to thread an IH corn Binder?

Hello,

We borrowed an International Harvester Corn Binder to cut and tie fodder shocks to sell with our pumpkins. It is cutting and bundling great, but we can't figure out how to thread it so they will be tied.

Can anyone help and Rookie Farm Girl in distress??

It is basically the same, whether it is a baler, corn, or grain binder. Between the twine box and the needle you should find some twine guides (rings) that guide the twine to the needle. The twine should come up on the outside of the needle, then through the needle, and you tie it off to some handy part of the machine. It needs to be anchored, like on a baler. When the needles operate for the first time, either by turning the machine by hand, or with the first bundle, the twine should go into the knotter and twine discs, get cut off, and after each bundle is discharged, the twine should be sitting behind the next bundle to be made.

There is a corn binder manual for sale on the classified column. It is listed with the company that has a link to their website. When you get to their site, type in binder in their search engine.
I have a grain binder and that works well. I think they may be different though. Anyway, I couldn"t explain how the knotter works if my life depended on it.
I just looked at it and its right on this site. Just click on Manuals in the left column and then search.
