Was at an auction yesterday that had a nice little 1240 planter. This was a plate planter. I thought the 1240 was a plateless planter. I don't know much about Deere stuff so I was just wondering. I had to leave so I don't know what it brought. Looked like you could have hooked to it and gone to the field.

1200 series as well as the 1300 series offered the choice of plate and plateless units. Can't remember for sure but I think the 7000 was offered with a plate unit too.

7000 did have plate option. I've seen only one of them. The 7000 had a different, improved plateless version than what the 12 series had. 1240 is 4 rw, 1250 is 6rn, 1280 is 8rn.
