Quick hitch Draw bar

I have a Farmall C that I have installed a Quick hitch draw bar and can't get the draw bar to lift off the ground. The bar that runs to the lift arms up front are making the linkage hinge but it won't travel enough to lift the draw bar off the ground.Toward the back of the draw bar their is a hyd. cyl. Where does that go and what does it do ? Please HEEEELLLLL PPPP!!!!!

The hydraulic cylinder is what lifts the drawbar. It sets vertically with one end attached to the drawbar and the other to a fixed point on the rear tractor housing. You also have to have the auxiliary hydraulic valve (in addition to the touch control rocker arms). The lever for this valve mounts on the right hand side of the headlight bar just below the steering wheel. It sounds like your fast hitch is incomplete. If you can find a picture, that will show you what it looks like.

Thanks, it makes sense now . One end of The cyl is hooked to the draw bar and the other end hooks to the piece that hinges the draw bar up and down. But the end of the cyl that hooks to the round bar that pushes and pulls the draw bar is not in any fixed position, it just flops down on top of the draw bar is there some thing that holds it in a up right position? Thanks !

On my 300 - which is probably totally different & this is worthless to you - there is a round shaft that raises & lowers the fast hitch. There is a sliding loop around the shaft, and the other end of that bracket anchors to a pivot about where the heel of your left shoe would go.

The hyd cylinder on top connects to the middle of this bracket, or rocker arm. As the cylinder extends, the part of the rocker by your foot rotates, and the shaft part raises.

Thanks Paul, That's a big help! I wasn't sure if the top of the cyl was anchored or not. So if I understand this right the cyl.stands straight up and there is supposed to be a bracket that the top of the cyl fits in to anchor it some where around the foot plate on the left side. Have you got a picture? I think I'm missing this bracket. Thanks for your help!
