My uncle has just given me this planter to fix up, it used to be my grandfather's ,but he passed away in 94'. So it's been sittin' on the fence line all this time. He used to run it with ferguson to-20, it should have a gear that goes to the axle to operate it but I can't find it. That seems to be all that's missing, I would like to know if I can find a manual and where I might find a gear. What years were they made, what tractor was it made for? I have it on a 53' jubilee and the chain lines up in middle of the rear tire on the left side. It is in real good shape and would like to restore it, I can remember following it while pop used it and marveling on how it worked together. Any help is welcome, thanks in advance.

Could you check the ID plate again, the 12- is correct but the 31 model may not be correct.

Scott, thanks for the feed back, I rechecked the tag this morning and it says I2-3I serial number 6542. It is definitly a dearborn tag. What was the original color? It has a gear on the left side, if your standing behind it, that turns a rod under both seed buckets. The rod holds gears that turn gears under the buckets. It appears to have some kind of a slip clutch or disengage next to the main drive gear on the left. It is a 3-point hook up. Thanks for the help.
