What can you tell me about a 850? I just purchased one at the auction. looks to be in fair shape as far as I can tell. Been used this year, not all rusty.
I just had to jump in on it. all the round balers were going cheap. Got the 850 for $600

Kelly,

I'll give you $1800 for it sight unseen.

You're gonna sell your other balers because this is one of the best that ever came down the pike.

Seems like everyone is afraid of the darned things because of that chain; funny thing is, this is what makes it so darned good. :>)

Keep the chain tighened up and oiled, and you are gonna be sooooo o impressed.

Allan

You stole it at that price. Good balers, boiler plate tough and will roll anything (literally, if it will go in the bale chamber it will roll it)

I have had an 849 for 5 years. At $600, you stole it, if it is in good shape. Buy the manual for it, so you can adjust the chains and such. If you let the chains get loose, they can jump off the rollers when you are just starting a bale. Getting them back on the rollers is a challenge. Better to keep the tension on them. I have run about 1000 bales through mine and for a small farm, they are great. Congratulations on your find.
