Where can you purchase the correct pitman for a JD 37 sickle mower? I got one at a local farm supply store that was labeled to be for the JD 37 mower, and the crank end is too big for the straps to bolt onto. It will need a bunch of filing down. The sickle end fits perfectly without any filing. I got another pitman at a JD dealer with the part number matching my #37 mower parts book and theirs too, and it was made the same way, with the crank end being way too big. All parts on the mower are original or JD replacement parts. What's the deal with the pitman not fitting??

Hi Bill; I don't know why yours don't fit. Mine went right on like it was made for it! Just quit worrying about it, and buy my #39, and keep yours for parts! The Fire Ant beds are the reason we don't use these cycle mowers here in South Ga. anymore. Mine works great, and I have the manual too, except in hay with Fire Ant beds- that's everywhere down here! Good luck Bill; Ga. Plowboy
