I have two 489's. I noticed the first one I bought had a bent support on left side. This is the support the axle bolts into. The wheel runs at an angle because of this. Someone had attempted to straighten it but didn't do a very good job. I bought a second 489 a couple of years ago. That one was good when I bought it, but now I noticed the other day, that this one now broke and bent in the same place. The left wheel is running at a severe angle and will need to be fixed soon. This is the side that supports all the gear boxes, etc. It looks like New Holland just didn't build it heavy enough. Anyone else have the same problem?

I have seen this before, but keep in mind that you are dealing with machines 15 to 25 years old. IT was not a chronic problem. Steve

The 489 we use, the arm or leg thing you talk about is fine.

We do need a new top conditioning roller.
