I have a NH 565 baler in good condition that I've never been entirely happy with. NH scrimped too much on this economy baler. My biggest complaint is that it only has 4 bars on the pickup and feeding is not smooth. Can I buy the spiders from a 570 or 575 and add another bar or two to improve feeding. My NH dealer is less than helpful with this type of question. If NH had a site like JD Parts I could look this info up myself.

Thanks for the tip on JD parts, they have all kinds of stuff for our International available cheaper than the IH-Case dealer!

When I first read your request, I was inclined to answer no without checking it out. However, it looks like you can update to a 570 pickup with no problem. Having said that, your 4 bar should be ok. New Holland came out with the super sweep 4 bar in 1978. We have sold many 310,311,and 565 balers and no one complains about them. In fact, I've had more complaints that the 5 and 6 bar pickups are too good and pick up too many stones. The windrow guard on top of the pickup may have more to do with even feeding then the pickup itself. Also, are the curved hooks on your teeth about worn off? They are not as good once that happens. It looks to me that if you keep within the serial number range of your baler, you can convert to either a 5bar pickup or a 6 bar pickup using your existing tine bars and new 570 parts. The 575 pickup is wider and those bars won't work.
