New Holland plungerhead wood replacement

good morning,

The wood on my NH 68 Baler is too worn to adjust...3/4 inch gap on the top rail. Otherwise it seems like a nice little baler.

1) Where do I get the wood?

2) What are the settings?

3) Any tricks to this job? (I know how to get the plungerhead out the bale chamber)

NH dealer has them, about $20 each.
Or you can buy one and find some white Oak and make 3 more just like it.

Settings? dont know cant find my manual off hand.
You can get a usermanual from the dealer or NH publications at 800-635-4913.

might check those plunger bushings wile you have the plunger out. Oh and use new bolts on the wood. I had to cut all mine off to get the bearings off.

I thought it was just wood slidding over the steel?!?

That is what he means, the wood forms a type of bearing.
