Hi, i was looking as some archived discussions about ac rotobalers and most said to use binder twine. i cant find binder twine in my area, but wondered if something else would work. i have the change to buy a rotobaler and am wondering if they are good or not or what people opinions of them are. i can either get that or an ih #46 square baler. any thoughts or suggestions would be great. i know nothing about the rotobaler.

The 16000 foot ball works fine- it's a smaller, weaker twine like binder twine.

I did custom baling with a rotobaler for years.
Still have some extra parts, belts, etc. These machines can be dangerous. If it gets you mad -- walk away. Don't try running wet hay through it.

I have never run one, but I have picked up a lot of hay from one. The hay field was 4 miles from the livestock. Stack them 2 wide and put the large end out(one end is always a little bigger than the other)or 4 wide, split them open with a sharp ax to feed them and you don`t have as much waste with the small bales as big bales. i have one and dearly love it--i bale some 80 acres each year with it and never pick up the hay-i partition it off with electric fence and let the cows feed themselves moving the fence every few days---in missouri we can get the binder twine at local elevator and at orschelins--the local farm supply--i believe if you have an amish community close by someone will have it there becuase ofthem binding corn and grain. the machine is both extremely simple and agravating at times--dont bale ur hay too wet or it wont kick out--if you feel you must pick them up--they weigh about 40 lbs and are difficult to stack because of being round--becareful when you stack them inside --if resting against the walls--the pressure can push the walls out--for all the things against them--they are still a great machine--a bit before its time--they quit makeing them in 74 --if you can get a "white top" one of the last machines made--i paid 125 for mine and have turned down 500 and have never really spent anything on it--tho if i had the chance i would buy another one for parts --as only a few parts are still available. good luck

Hi chuck...my Dad always used a round baler and did just like you're doing...he'd move the electric fence and make the cows clean the bales up as they went! Funny isn't it...I'm sitting here thinking about the expression KISS...(keep it simple ----- ). I wonder why we all aren't doing like you're doing!!! Anyway Just wanted to let you know there is another roto baler fan out here!

I have a nice rotobaler for sale. Been seson since it has been used but is in goood usable shape. Belts are excellent. I also have new balls of twine for it. $300.00 pic of unit can find at www.RickSales.com. I also have a IH square baler for sale new knotters $1100.00
