I'm going to look at one of these mowers. It has both the 7 and 9 ft. bars and extra blades. Asking price is $550. It is supposed to be in excellent condition. I trust this dealer, I have purchase several items including my Jubilee from him and he has always treated me well. Any input on the mower or the price would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say that's a pretty darn good price if it is in decent condition. I've seen them bring quite a bit more.

Having not seen it; I would say its worth more than they are asking for it at least in my area. Its not uncommon for a "456" to bring $1200 give, or take!

If You are looking to make hay thats another story. These mowers cut good; But You will have a far more valuable hay crop using a haybine. The crimping action of a haybine makes a tremendous difference in the nutrional level after the hay has cured! So for miscellaneous mowing... Great! For a high dollar crop... Not so great; But will work. I have used both.
