I have one of these things too and have gotten to know it pretty well.Still having knotter trouble though. If the needle frame has not returned all the way there is a stop on the bottom that keeps the plunger from hitting the needles . check to see if it is sticking up into the bale chamber.

Is the plunger jammed with hay or other baled material, or is it jammed because the guides were worn, and doubled up, jamming the plunger?

Or is it jammed because the tie stops are stopping it, or is it jammed because there are plates on the side of the bale chamber designed to let the hay go by, but stop it from coming back forward during another power stroke.

If you unbolt the rod cap at the crank pin, and these things aren"t in your way, it will come out.

Mine uses all wood guides, no rollers (like my Ford 350) so there is nothing to stop you. Might be a little rusty.

Take the tail gate off and hook a comealong to it with a piece of steel across the rear and give her a pull.

I pulled the ram out of my 350 and had the listed problems, to change the rollers. Did not pull the 24t but did look at it and that"s the basis for my comments.

Good luck

Mark
