I am looking for pictures and color scheme of an old FROST&WOOD 10A mower. Also, if there is any idea of the production run on this model. I don't know how long the Cockshutt Co. produced it for, after the 1909 purchase. Any info would be appreciated as we are going to try and revive one of five , found out in the woods. I found no pictures on this site. Thanks.

Hi, when I was young, a neighbor had a Frost and Wood mower made in Smith's Falls Ont. If my memory is correct it was yellow/cream wheels and green frame but later ones made by Cockshut may have red frame. We had Frost and Wood grain binder.

Thanks, JB. Do you remember if the shade of green was light, like the old massey harris plows or more towards JD green?

Hi Kent! Are all five of them 10A"s? I have a operating and parts manual for that mower. It is dated 1941 and states" Cockshutt Oil Bath Mower No. 10A manufactured by The Frost & Wood Co." I have seen one of these mowers with Cockshutt cast on it, not frost and wood. The parts manual doesn"t list any parts older than 1939. Cockshutt stopped using the Frost & Wood name after the war. I just purchased a Frost & Wood Giant 8 sickle mower. I found what I think are the original colours. The wheels were the cream colour and the body was red. Where abouts are you in NB? I am just outside Saint John towards Fredericton in a place called Grand Bay-Westfield. I would like to see your mower!

Yes, I think they are all 10A's but various states of disrepair. We are just west of Fredericton, near Mactaquac. Father-in-law thought they were painted yellow wheels, green body.Would like to see copy of operating manual if possible. Thanks, Kent.

Hi Tim,
We have recently purcheased a Frost and Woods 10 A mower. If it at all possible we would like a copy of the manual you spoke of to Kent. We are restoring ours and hope to display it at local fair.
Thanks, Mark
