I had a #3 that worked pretty well. By this I mean it tied about 90-95 out of 100 bales. It did need the thick sisal twine to work even this well. It had not had a lot of use, but I lost my tractor driver so I replaced it with a NH and thrower. The Massey had significantly less capacity than the NH 310 I have now. The only parts I ever bought were shear pins. Its condition should be good and price low if you are to seriously consider it.

I had two MF 10s, very similar to the 3 but newer. One was old and worn out, the other was old but had been treated like gold and not used much.

Neither one would tie to save my life, no matter what. Eventually gave up and sold them at a loss. Got a NH 66 for almost nothing, and wouldn't trade it for a truckload of MFs.

The earlier M-F Balers don"t have a geat reputation up here. The 12 and 124 are better. Parts might be a problem for a #3. I"m guessing it"s from the "50"s - pretty long in the tooth. MTCW.
