i need to know if i can tighten up the clicker on this mower it clicks(stops and cloges up )when i hit a little tuff hay i can only mow in 1st gear any help will be a great help

You can ajust the slip clutch by pulling off the top front cover from the chain case. The ajusting nut is locked with a roll pin and wired. That roll pin has probably broken off and let the nut loosen. It was a comon thing on those mowers. The operators manuel gives a compresed length for that spring.

Can't remember for sure Had a 9W several years ago until I wrecked it crossing a ditch.Sure did like it .Deere Parts site doesn't show that model but I think you remove the(wheel bearing like) cap at the rear aand tighten the nut inside.Mower has to be raised to get to the cap.
