First thing I would say is the bill hooks. My father played with our #10 for 15 years, and when I first started to tinker with it, I replaced the bill hooks(@ $108.00 apiece). He couldn't get it to tie on either side persistently, and I have baled 900 bales with it so far without a miss-tie. Other possibilities: -Tension on cam arm for bill hook is too loose or too tight. The book says to thread the nut and tighten it 4 1/2 turns. -The primary and secondary twines not centered in bill hook jaws. Get two cresecnt wrenches and a screw driver and play with the position of both the twine holder disc drive gear and the twine holder disc until both twines are centralized in the bill hook. -The stripper arm knife is out of adjustment. there should be a hairline between it and the twine holder disc when the stripper arm begins and ends it's cycle. If not, loosen the bolts holding the knife to the stripper arm and adjust it accordingly. -The twine holder arm is not holding primary twine against the bill hook. It could very possibly be that the nut that hold the position of the arm is loose, and the arm isn't moving when it should. Question- Does one of the ends of the untied twine have a twist in it?
