my neighbor was about to burn a pile of junk; in there, there was two old(in very poor shape) wood box manure spreaders. the wood was very rotten or missing, but, the hardware seemed to be there. i talked him into letting me keep the spreaders, (dont know why) i guees i just hate to see our old farm history on fire. my question is, is there any real value in them, if so i'll try to restore them. can anyone tell me of a good source of info for the value of these and also on how to restore them. i sure would appreciate your help (been lookin forever) thank you very much, sincerely joseph p.s. red, if you are reading this, thanks a million for sending me to this forum

Here in NJ, little ground-driven spreaders are highly valued by the part time horse and livestock owners. Old JD L and New Idea 12A spreaders in excellent condition will often fetch $800 or more at auction, sometimes a lot more.
