I agree stay 4 ft or smaller and buy bush hog or rino will last a life time if maintained.king kutter is not really a bargain you pay extra in repairs and replacment parts and make sure the hitch is heavy STEEL , remember you get what you pay for and buy the chain gaurds for front and rear the front will save tires have ruined a few from flying trash.

for 16 hp tractor, no more than a 48" cutter. a 42" would be even better. whatever size you buy make sure you get a big name brand such as Bush Hog or Rhino. parts will be much easier to get if you need them with a name brand implement.

16 hp would mean no more than five feet of mower depending on what you are doing. Mowing your yard would be a 5' finish mower. Pasture mowing would mean probably a 4' bush hog type mower. There has been so many discussions about brands....

With just a 16 pto hp tractor you are obviously not going to be cutting much brush, just mowing grass and weeds I would guess. I would stick with a 4" mower but even so buy a heavy duty one. Woods and Bush Hog both make good ones, even King Kutter for the price. Just make sure it is not their lite weight models.

I used a King Kutter XB 4' ( 3pt hitch sized for the smaller tractors like BX but still cat 1 pins, etc ) on my B7100 ( which has 16 total hp ).

I had to slow down some in grass over a couple feet tall, but it worked fine.

It was also made sturdier than some of the other King Kutter mowers, was Kubota Orange to boot.
