I have a '58 MH model 60 pull type combine with a Continental F140 engine. Each time I pull on the hydraulic control lever, the table comes up about an inch. It used to come up smoothly as long as the lever was held forward. Does this sound like a problem with the pump or the valve ? It has a Pesco pump and a Dowty control valve.

Is the pump belt driven? If so, have someone operate the hydraulics while you watch for a slipping belt.

Our Massey # 90 (SP) used to act like that when the pump belt needed tightening.

Thanks Bob, that was sure a simple fix. I never even thought that it could be the belt.
