I was wondering if anyone on here has or has used one of these mower conditioners. I see one on my way to work every day, been sitting outside for years, looks like a 7 foot cut, not sure. Don"t know the model either. Were these good machines, are parts still available? TIA

Never had one of their mowers, but had a skid steer loader once. Ran ok, absolutely impossible to work on due to the design. I had to change the battery and you had to take off half of the back end of the machine to get to it. It was ridiculous. If you look it over, keep that in mind. Can't see how they'd do that with a mower but who knows.

I had a 9" that bought at a farm auction for $300 and sold a year later at a consignment sale for $70, so that gives you an idea of my opinion. It did a fair job, but was not as easy to use as the NH 479 I have now.
Owatanna was bought by Gehl. I don"t know about parts, but the local Gehl dealer got a manual for me.

I have a Owattonna 206 moco, it does a good job. The chains,bearings,knife, teeth are all found at any short line parts dealer. Other parts made by owattona are hard to find, keep the number of a good machine shop close. The rolls are both steel,and very noisy. It is easy to adjust and operate.
