Does anyone know anything about a 56W Baler?? We have purchased on in good condition and were wondering if it is rare and how old it is. The strange thing about this baler is that the serial number is 4600. Kinda strange to have an even number like that.

I ran a couple of these back in the late 60s doing custom baling. ONe had a Wisconsin engine on it and the other an INternational engine. Most of the balers were wire in my part of the country at that time. They were good balers, very heavy though especially with engine. Seemed like they just kept tieing no matter what you fed them. Most times had ragged looking bales as it was difficult to keep plunger knife tight to stationary knife. The twisters worked good and delivered a twist with a loop in it instead of the "gut poker" type like JD and New Holland. As I say they were heavy. You needed some power to control them on a hill and they would find a wet spot.
