We have a sickle bar mower that we inherited from my grandfather and we are trying to figure out the model. My grandfather used it behind a IH 140 I believe around 1972. The mower attaches to the tractor in four places and has a (+ or -) 7' bar and no trail behind wheel. The manuals area on this site list a Model 200 and Model 230. Any chance either of these is what we have? Any ideas what we do have? Where would I look on the mower for a model number? Thanks.

We have an IH mower for our 140 that mounts in place of the drawbar. Six bolts mount it, 4 in rear and 2 in front. Ours was bought new with a Super A in 1953. The model is A-24. I think there was an A-21 also, one of them is supposed to be the heavy duty unit. I believe they continued to make these mowers for the 100,130 & 140 tractors, although the numbers could have been changed. Can't find a tag on ours, numbers may have been painted on.
