This probably should be over on tool talk, but I didn't want to get lost amongst the welders, etc.
Does anyone know if and how you replace handles on shovels, rakes, etc that appear to have no visible fastener holding in the handle? I can do the ones that are held on by a bolt etc. There is a whole pile of old shovels and rakes around here that have perfect metal but the wood gave out. I'd like to fix some of these but I can't even get the old handle off let alone a new one in. Probably very easy answer, but I cannot fathom how these are attached. Only so many short handled rakes and forks I need on the baler!

They're just a friction fit. Drive them out with a hammer and drive it into the new handle
