I just bought a 46 baler and no one can make it work. Any help would be great.

John

the one thing I liked about the IH 46 baler was you can get to the knotters very easily and the chaff doesn't have to many places to buildup. I have one plus a parts baler, wasn't able to get the knotters to work together consistantly, so I spent some big bucks and bought a JD 14T. Good luck

Hi, more detail description of problem may help in diagnosis.

But having had many years of expierence using IH46
baler, I can guess it is ejecting untied bales.

On most 46's usually there was one good knotter and one not so good knotter.

If it is a knotter problem try sharpenning the twine knives. The other thing the knotters were sensitive to twine quality. If the twine had thick and thin spots, the twine woould slip out of the twine holder disks on the thin spots.

Good luck
JB

I strongly recommend an Operators Manual, and the IH Knotter Service Manual from Binderbooks. Both manuals do a good job explaining the bale formation and knot formation processes. They also describe the precise clearances and adjustments that need to be made.
