Went back to a bottom that I hadn't been to in about 3 weeks to move some round bales. When I left there were 68 4x5 rolls on 8 acres, when I got there today there were 12. Noticed a mud line on a few that were there and noticed that the fence on the down stream side of the field was gone. Looks like the creek moved it for me, sure would hate to be in a canoe with 50+ rolls of hay heading down stream. We had 5" this past week, 3" in one night. Oh, well.

We had the same thing happen in eastern NC a few years ago when hurricane Floyd came through. It floated large 5X6 bales of peanut hay down through the woods. It was a huge mess.

in 1995 in Feb we had 18" of snow on the ground when we went to bed. over night we had 3" of rain and when we got up in the morning it was 70 degrees and the snow was gone. the creek that borders our place was runn'in about a hundred feet wide and 15 feet deep. the round bales were floating like corks. my wife and I counted over 200 go under the bridge in about 45 minutes. none were mine

I'll bet the first thing you said wasn't "oh well"

You are so right more like a what the..... ..

Next thought was about a really really hazardous sport I used to partake in on that very creek when I was too young (and dumb) to know better, pooling (warning, this is definitely not a safe sport, calls for a kiddie pool from "Sams House of Value", a life jacket, (preferably) a good looking girl, and a very fast high water creek). Thought about what I would have thought if I had been doing it that day.

I'd have liked to have seen that.

Think your flood insurance will cover that?
