our old 275 baler works fine but we find that the bales come out different lengths & then wont stack nicely on the truck.we try to keep a consistant size windrow & feed it evenly.is there an adjustment that we may be overlooking ?

Jim, the arm that comes up and falls back down again where you adjust your length of bales rides against a little wheel with fine grooved notches in it. The notches are probably worn off. Replace the little notched wheel and you should be good to go. However, every once in a while the arm itself needs replaced if it has grooves wore in it. Steve

Steve is right we had an oliver that had wore out that wheel. If you didnot watch it you would have a bale 30 feet long.

To Steve from New Holland,

Thanks for the reply above. I've been having problems with my old Super 68 with uneven bale length. It didn't even dawn on me to check that mechanism, but sure makes sense. Somethin' else to work on!!!
