Saw this at an auction sight in SW Iowa, has been stored outside but knotters have been protected. No paint on machine, bottom of bale chute pretty rusted - some holes in tensioning ram. Owner stated of the last 130 bales ONLY 5-6 had to be redone. He has a second baler he has used for parts. I'm looking for a back up to a NH 80 for 10-20 acres. How much is it worth? Thanks Dick Davis

I Built a bale lift using the mast from a walk behind forklift. I mounted it on my 3pt and it lifts about 4 ft high. It was rated for 1000 lb using 1100 psi hyd. I picks up almost twice that if I can keep the front of my 4000 Ford on the ground. I can load on flat bed traile from the side as well as unload. You won't have trouble losing the bales from the trailer if you stap them down.

I would shy away from it if it was me. Almost every thing can be fixed on these old balers except the bale chute. Once those rust out your done.
That does not mean I wouldnt buy it. If it went for $100 or so.

I have a NH 78 that I bought at an auction about 4 years ago, it had been painted and everything worked and was in good shape, stored inside. I gave $430. From what you are describing, I would offer $250 and not go over $350.

Good luck, let us know the results.

Well, I think you should ask him directly. A lot of people won't give you much to haul something like that off. Good luck..... ..

Guess I wasn't clear its an auction this week end. Owner doesn't have much say about price. Dick Davis
