Today, I reduced the hydraulic pressure over the bales and reduced also the lenght of the bales. After that the problem stopped. There was too much tension on the right side twine(knife side) and sometimes the bales explode in the thrower (NH 70). There is much more hay on the right side if compared to left side, the bales are not rectangular. I have to adjust the feeding forks, a guess work because original settings are lost since a long time now.
Thanks Steve, you hit right on the nail.
Roger.

Rodger, your welcome. I hope all readers of this forum read this reply. Many tying issues can be fixed by simply backing off on the bale tension. I know everyone wants to pack as much as possible into each bale, but you do so at the risk of having knotter trouble as well as shearbolt trouble. As far as banana shaped bales, New Holland balers are prone to do this in certain conditions. Don't change anything yet. The next field may be different. Steve
