Looking at buying one. We need something that will rake as well as it Tedds. Past experience with lelly and Fransgard has not been impressive for raking. Some of our fields are rough. Looking for any information on how well the kuhn or the NH 255 works for you. Thanks.

I have a NH 255 rake/tedder and like it a lot. My rake hasn't seen a hay lot in two years. Takes a while to get all the adjustments figured out but I am very happy with mine. I used it in the fixed tine tedder position for the first time yesterday and what an improvement over the cam tedder position. I like the ability to raise it up over the hay when raking at the headlands. I have a few odd shaped lots where it realy helps. You must be very carefull when in fixed tine mode not to raise to high because he PTO shaft can be struck by the tines. My Dealer let me demo a 254 unit and that sold me on the machine, but the 255 is much improved. never had any other machine so thats all I can tell you.

I'd recommend a tedder & a rake. Metal (teeth) can swipe ground for years & not break - but bend it the other way and it will snap. How do you intentionally break wire? A tedder/rake tends to eat teeth. My opinion.
