Could someone give me the demensions for the hay resistors (the ramp shaped sheet metal) on either side of the twine channels. Mine are rusted away and I will fab up a set. Currently fabing a set of side hay resistors, using IMC conduit sliced on the band saw and mig welded to new sheet iron. I was able to use the old ones as a pattern. Oh, by the way, this for a John Deere 14T baler. Thanks in advance, John

I made a new one last year for my 14T. There is hay in it now so I can not see it. It seems like I just built it to fit. 4"+- wide and about 5" long and an inch high on the back side. I made it out of about 10 or 12 gage steel. The old one was just rust. It works a lot better now.

John, I made some up for the same reason as you. I used 10 gage galv. material bent just past 90 degrees and about 6 in. long by 7/8 . I don't think the front to back dim. is that critical. Side to side , just make 'em about a quarter less than the space they fit in. Also made the side units too. Used 10 gage but put chunks of 1 1/2 by 3/8 bar stock at an anglein place of the cheese grater things that are stock. Good luck . Mguy.

Oops, I misread your question.|:(| I'll try again. 1 1/2"W x 3/4"H x 28"L. "U" channel is quite lite material - about 1/8".HTH.

Those are the twine channels, which I have already fabed and installed. The parts that I am refering to located between and to either side of the twine channels. Items 22, 24, and 25 in the parts catalog PC426, (01MAY64) BP 13910 E BP 10035 E BP 10045 E John

Ah, NOW I get it!! Like they say, "When all else fails, read the instructions (or parts book)!" |:)| Good luck getting it baling again. Old 14T's never die, they just rust away!
