What would you pay for a JD 999T.Truck planter? I know nothing about them and I am not even sure that this is the proper name for it, ( that is what sombody stenciled on the side) It is horse drawn (converted to tractor) , two row ,repainted(not restored) in working condition, he has extra plates and it looks complete? He wants 250.00 for it, is that fair or a steal? (He planted this years sweet corn with it!)

I bid on one last year - good shape, not restored. Went for $389. Guy who bought it was a Mennonite, He told me he was buying for the amish. I guess the Mennonites can drive to auctions and the amish can't. Irv

I have one left yet that has both corn and pea or bean boxes on it. The last unit I sold went for $400.00. It was sharp thou.I am asking 350.00 for unit that I have so I don't feel he is out line. Has this unit been shedded,then yes,if not then price becomes less. I have avilable all sorts of horse drawn equipment,trying to clean shed out. I paid $45 for mine that came right out of the fence row. Greased and oiled it up and seeded my sweet corn with it with no problems.

999T meant that it originally had a 2-wheel tongue truck on it to take the weight off the horses. Converted ones show up around here, depending on what they have for attachments and what shape they are in, $50-$150 is what they bring.
