The left knotter on my baler is double tieing every third bale and breaking the twine. The bilhook is not releasing the knot. What might be he problem and what do I need to do to fix it?

Mine was doing that on the right side. Tucker finger was out of adjustment. Got it to spec and it went from tying doubles to tying loose. I changed from plastic twine to 10,000 sisal and the knots tightened up. This winter it's going to get a full knotter o.h. back to factory spec.

First thing is to check the billhook for grooving. If the tang is grooved, you need a new billhook. If there isn't a groove, back off on the nut on the billhook that adjusts how hard the hook holds the twine. Move 1/8 of a turn at a time, sometimes it doesn't take much. Inspect the roller for a flat spot. If you see a flat spot, put on a new roller. Also, how's the tension coming out of the twine box? Had a 336 that was missing on one side because I didn't have even tension on the twine coming out of the box.
