Anyone have a diagram on how the beater bar chains should be routed on the right side of the spreader?

I have a book on the L. My Dad and I refurbished one last winter. I can look and see when I get home in the morning and post back. Are you talking about how the chain is run around the drive?

That is exactly what I am talking about. I believe it somehow runs over top of the hatchet looking pawl bracket?

MarkPete,

I looked at mine and this is what I have- The chain is 38 links long. I am calling a link one like the master link, there are of course the other ones inbetween. The chain goes from the front idler back over the top idler (has the spring on it) to the small gear on the bottom beater. That gear is outside the larger gear. Then it goes forward over the pawl above the large drive gear and back to conect to front idler. The front lever rotates the pawl to the back letting the chain contact the large drive gear. hope this helps.
