We got the last of our 1st crop off the feild yesterday. I was out there on the 1st load, when it rained for about 5 mins, just enought to get it wet. We went home and got the rest of the wagons empty(6 total to use) and ate lunch. I checked it a few hours later and the rain was dried off, so this time my dad and brother went to bale, and we got it off the feild. We still have 3 1/2 wagons loaded, but that's minor now. We borrowed a neighbor's V-rake and tripled up our 9' cut. Our Massey 12 baler was working our 285 enough to get it a little warm, but those bales are an extremely solid 40-50 lbs, green, and only 5 mins. of rain on the hay, after being tripled up. Amazing what our little 12 will handle. Only had 15 broken bales out of the 2050 on the counter, and 8 of which were from when the twine switched over and the knot pulled apart. Donovan from Wisconsin
By the way, it rained almost as soon as the baler was home and in the shed.

Great work out. We've been getting a lot of that 2 minute shower here in N. Tx. lately. Just enough to steam things up and ruin the haying operation. But I did sneak a load in yesterday having only a couple of squirts on it while curing.

Yeah, those 5 min. showers are really frustrating. Our hay couldn't have turned out better though. It's just right moisture, so we kept all the leaves and they didn't heat while on the wagon for a day. If we could ever get enough money saved up for some newer equipment, we would love to buy our own v-rake. We've been borrowing our neighbor's for the last 3-4 years now for our 2nd & 3rd crop. Worked good for our 1st crop this year too. Now we gotta finish planting our corn and we'll be caught up.
