IH 46 baler questions

I started baling some grass hay today, first time I've actually used my baler since I got it working. I ran it stationary with about 8 bales through it getting it to tie good and all that. It never missed while I was doing that, but when I took it out to the field today I had 11 bales and 6 missed. The ones that did tie are real good, about 32-34" long, real tight. But one twine is about 1" shorter than the other. I've misplaced my manuals and was wondering what ya'll thought could be my problem. Also, when I turn I hear and feel and deep clunking noise in the tranny/ rearend on my tractor, I've heard of 45s snapping PTO, what about 46s? Sorry about going on and on. Rich

I know if the windrow is extra thick and feed in too fast, or the baler is running over the recommended plunger speeds, a baler could miss tie bales. The deep clunking noise that you here when turning sharply is probably the result of the universal joint on drive shaft reaching close to its maximum swivel operation. It is best to disengage the pto whenever you are turning sharp enough to start hearing the clunking noise just to be on the safe side.

Check to see that the PTO yoks are in alignment, out can also cause that noise
