Lucked in to a NH 460 last Sat. for next to zip. So far I have spent $40.00 in parts and other than having to buy a knive for the bar section I think I can get it running. My ?? is, what is the hot setup for getting the wheel and tire off on the PTO side. Took about an hour to get it off and I was able to get 3 bolts back in to move it out side to pressure wash and park until I get all the parts. I know that I have to have all the bolts back in to mow.

There is no hot method. It is a dumb setup. The way you did it is correct. Steve

John: Left wheel on a NH 460 or 461 haybine, one of the curses of modern times. NH engineers sure scerwed up on that one. I had a 460 for 17 years from new, thankfully I only had to remove that wheel once, and that was for a wheel bearing. I can tell you everything in bearing and a tire went on new. It was worse than taking the bull wheel off a grain binder. It will only take one size of tire also. My memory bit fuzzy on this by now, forget the size. I do remember there is no easy way.
