Weekend before last had to bust my rump to get 900 bales in the barn. Was wondering why the heck I do this.

Tonight I delivered 80 of those bales. Folks were on thier last 2 bales. They liked the hay so much they wrote me a check for $1100 on the spot for 300 more bales.

Felt good to make a customer happy and the wife happy all at the same time:-)

There now I am all pumped up to knock down the next 900 bales.

Kelly--what kind of grass bales are you selling? No legal hay around here sells for those $$$.

Around here if you have some real nice grass hay.
I.E. Cut at the right time,Baled at the right time, Not many weeds, Green and no rain.
there are horse people that will pay top dollar for it. Heck this lady pays $20 for a 50 pound bag of feed for them things.
Plus I doddle over them when I am there and I deliver. They get all the free butt kissin they want for that premium price

Any hay that I get that didnt get rain on it. Is not coming out of my barn for less than $3 a bale.
Now the stuff I baled tonight that got the Sunday rain on it. Well If I sell it now I may get a buck a bale for it.
If I had that same hay at the end of may I could have gotten $4 a bale for the rained on stuff.

Will see how many I get this year. I want to hold over at least 1000 bales till spring.
