OT flies

What I do is fly tags in all the calves the first of May. De worm with an ivermectin based pour on product (gives 30 days of fly control as a bonus) July 15. Usually does me for the year. Occasionally, I use back rubs by the mineral feeder with a commercial permethrin solution.

There are also albon based mineral blocks, these seem to work pretty well (kind of pricey, and doesnt work with my mineral program).

Spray face, back, unders and legs. Before you get them all sprayed you'll notice the flys have thinned out significantly and an hour later you'll be hard pressed to find one.

I have sprayed mine for the 4 th time this year (rain washing it off) and the cows are in an open field. I put out some range cubes and they go to eating and now don't even pay attention to the fact that I'm spraying them.

I originally had a back rub. I could get them to use it but it did little for the lower half. Did a good job in the face and between the withers.

Get it at the ag store.

You don't suppose they figured out that my spraying stops the fly bites, now do you .....naw.
