This isn't really a "problem" - yet - but I just wanted to know what everyone thought of it...The other day while baling, the roller on the back of the billhook on the one side came off. The little stud post is still there, and I have the roller (my son found it on top of the hay in the chamber). I think the purpose of this roller is to ride up a groove in the backing part and open the billhook. I thought well, that's it, it won't tie now (it had just missed a tie). But then it did! We've made about 300 bales since then, not missing one tie. In the meantime, I've bought a new billhook assembly, but you know how baling is - especially here in NW PA - you hate to take time out to change something when it's still working! (and I'd hate to screw it up by 'fixing' it). Anyone else had this experience???

Those NH balers - man are they tough. I told my son NH must put in extra parts in their balers just because!

It will probably tie OK for a while but the lack of roller will tend wear the billhook cam.

You'll be OK with a new bill hook (approx.$45), but you could have purchased just the tongue of the bill hook which has the roller attached to it. for about $18, the last time I bought one. The tongue is held in the bill hook with a friction pin and is very easy to replace. Good Luck. John in NY
